Looking for an easy way to export iPhone contacts? In case you need to switch over to Android, or other mobile phone other than Apple, it’s really important to have your contacts easily moved from the iPhone to other phones, right?
It will also be useful to have offline backup in case iCloud is temporarily unavailable or forgot iCloud password, or any other reason.
To make it easier to backup iPhone contacts, I used a free iTunes app called My Contacts Backup developed by GLOBILE BILISIM BILGISAYAR HIZMETLERI ILETISIM DANISMANLIK SANAYI TICARET LIMITED SIRKETI
- Download My Contacts Backup from here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/my-contacts-backup/id446784593
- Once you’ve installed this app to your iPhone, open the app and tap Backup to start iPhone contacts backup process. Make sure you already have an email account setup before starting this process, because the VCF / CSV file will be emailed to you.
- Now tap Email to send the backup of iPhone contacts to your email.
- Tap on Settings icon on the bottom right to configure My Contacts Backup app. You can set the export type (VCF (vCard) or CSV) and what information you want to backup, such as Phones, Emails, URLs and so on.
If the other phone you switched to is non-Apple device, your contacts may not be supported on the other device, so I recommend you to only have Phones backup turned on, while the rest of information such as email, urls, etc are turned off.
Now you can easily transfer iPhone contacts to the other phone by copying the VCF or CSV file to the new phone. You may also you this guide to transfer iPhone contacts to a new iPhone, in case you just upgraded your Apple iPhone device.
