No Cydia icon after jailbreak? Why?
If you use redsn0w, or any other jailbreak software which is not compatible with untethered jailbreak yet, you probably facing the same problem as me. I cannot find Cydia after jailbreak 6.1.3 with redsn0w, which is still tethered-jailbreak for iPhone 3GS new bootrom.
Correct, redsn0w has not been updated for a while though p0sixspwn has been released for iOS 6.1.3 untethered jailbreak.
How to Fix “No Cydia” After Jailbreak?
So here is the fix:
- Once you have done jailbreak with redsn0w, DO NOT Quit redsn0w yet. Go back, select IPSW again (select iOS 6.0) and then click Just Boot
- If everything works well, your device should be rebooting and once it is done, you will have Cydia icon on your iPhone.
- Once you start Cydia for the first time, it will ask you to update your essentials. Upgrade Cydia and it will ask your to reboot your iDevice. After it reboots, repeat the steps again.
- To make it untethered jailbreak, simply search “p0sixspwn” on Cydia and install it to make your iPhone 3GS have a perfect 6.1.3 untethered jailbreak even if it’s new bootrom.
