Siri on iPhone 4/3GS/3G/2G or iPod Touch 4G/3G/2G Cydia

What is Spire?

Spire is a simple installer for Siri on any iPhone or iPod on iOS 5.0. Spire downloads and installs a copy of the Siri frameworks and resources. On the iPhone 4S, it allows configuring a proxy easily.
Spire developed by chpwn along with Ryan Petrich
Spire cydia tweak let you install Siri on iPhone 4/iPhone 3GS/iPhone 3G/iPhone 2G, iPod Touch 2G/iPod Touch 3G/iPod Touch 4G.

Is Spire Legal?

Spire is NOT illegal since it uses a new method to obtain the files necessary for Siri, so it doesn’t have the copyright issues encountered by previous attempts (H1Siri is illegal).

How-to Install Spire

  1. Verify your installed iOS version: ensure that the version is 5.0 / iOS 5.0.1
  2. Search and Install from Cydia the following package:
NOTE: Spire will download 100 MB while installing (except on the iPhone 4S). Please connect to Wi-Fi before installing Spire.
  3. Once you have successfully installed Spire and reboot your device, configure Siri and Spire.
  4. Tap Settings → General → Siri → Swith ON → Enable Siri to start configuring Siri
  5. Tap Settings → Spire
  6. Fill-in Proxy Host with the address of Siri Proxy server you want to use.
Note: Siri will not work without a proxy configured.

Siri requires a valid authentication token to connect to Apple, hence you will need to find a working Siri proxy / Spire proxy.

If you think that Spire is useless since Spire needs a Siri proxy, you’re wrong, because:

  • You can get some friends to let you use their authentication tokens (pay them back by helping with jailbreak and then installing cool cydia tweaks for Siri, etc).
  • If your family want to have Siri without upgrading to iPhone 4S, then you can install Spire to the devices and share your iPhone 4S token.
  • There may be some people selling Siri proxy services in order to let you using their Siri proxy servers.
  • The future of Spire may use Google Chrome’s speech “API” to decode the Siri requests and parse Google’s result. Or, someone could hook it up to some logic backends like many of the clones available on Android: the possibilities are endless
