pod2g the famous iPhone hacker since 2009 just spreading a big news through his twitter account. He has successfully done untethered jailbreak iOS 5.0 on his iPod Touch 3rd generation. pod2g wrote the details of his next plan for this untethered jailbreak on his blog.

pod2g’s exploit is userland, means it should be easy-to-run and will be done in user space (like JailbreakMe) and it is rely on a user ROP payload and a kernel write anywhere exploit.

He plans to test the untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1 on iPod Touch 3rd-gen, iPhone 4, iPad 2 also iPod Touch 4th-gen. Also, he’ll return to the research for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, but unfortunately he doesn’t have any iPhone 4S or iPad 2 devices, so you better donate to pod2g to help him doing more untethered jailbreak tests for iOS 5.0.
