Sorry to say, but this is FAKE video and I wasn’t watching the video carefully, hence you should STILL wait until iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak officially released.

FAKE iOS-5.1 untethered jailbreak

It supposed to be 5.1 (9B176), not 5.1 (9A405). Don’t fall into such trickery.

~~Someone on YouTube uploaded a video of untethered jailbroken iOS 5.1 (see the video below).~~

The uploader claimed that the iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak was purely happen by a chance. No specific steps require to get iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak on his iPhone 4. The only step he did was updating a jailbroken iOS 5.0.1 through iOS Software Update, not iTunes. The baseband is not upgraded either, it stays on 04.10.01 modem firmware version. I don’t know if he modified gs.apple.com host to Cydia’s server.

So, here is your chance to get your iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak like this guy.

Your device must have iOS 5.0.1 which already jailbroken with redsn0w.

Go to Settings → General → Software Update

Once the iPhone detects iOS 5.1 software update, tap Download and Install.

Finish.

That’s the only thing you need to jailbreak iPhone 4 iOS 5.1 untethered. I haven’t tested this method personally, so please do it Do It At Your Own Risk, be warned. Otherwise, just wait for official untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 updates from MuscleNerd, i0n1c, pod2g, chpwn and phoenixdev.
