It was first expected that, the acquisition would be around $300-$400 million. Rakuten has acquired Viber keeping in mind that of its huge customer database and one of the competitor to Line and Skype. As per the last report which has come out from Viber, it has nearly 300 million users across the world which is phenomenon. It seems that Rukuten has big plans in the free voice communication industry. Rakuten also has list of services like Pinterest and Kobo.
