Having this error on redsn0w is frustating! We know that!
So, how to fix this redsn0w issue?
It has been tested that Missing Keys.plist data for this build error with redsn0w can be fixed with any of these tricks (choose the one you preferred). But we give no guarantee that it works with every one, so if any of trick doesn’t work, simply try another one til you manage to fix this issue.
Move it to USB 2 instead of USB 3. We have the iPhone connected through USB 3 port (the blue one) and getting the error all the time. So, if you’re connecting the iPhone to a USB port with blue color (USB v3), pull it off and put it into another black USB port (USB v2).
What if you don’t have USB 2? Well, the next trick you should try is restarting your notebook/laptop/computer. I also have USB 3 working well before, but after the notebook went “sleep” / “hibernate”, there seem to be a glitch with the USB. So, restarting your computer may help you to sort out Missing Keys.plist error!
Not working? Well, you never had your redsn0w working on the current computer due to Missing Keys.plist issue, what if you try another computer? It will help you with this issue!
None of them working? Would you take a look on your USB data cable you used for the iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch? The cable probably “broken” and giving a retry with another cable will give you more chance to fix the problem! See your dock connector too, is it seem “broken”?
More tricks? Unfortunately, NO! That’s all the tips we got to help you with Missing Keys.plist data problem! But giving more chance by downloading the latest version of redsn0w is worth to try, though we assumed that you already used the latest version, right?
Well, if you have any other trick(s) to help other users with Missing Keys.plist data error, please share your own method to sort it out!
Hope this helps!
You may tip us if it really makes your day beautiful, and thanks for the coffee tip!
The iPhone Dev-Team just posted a new version of redsn0w to support the release of iOS 6 GM. So, if you have A4 devices with iOS 6 GM installed, you can now jailbreak iOS 6 GM with redsn0w 0.9.13dev4.
As usual, there are two redsn0w versions available, for Mac and Windows.
“The “dev4” version covers all the betas and yesterday’s 6.0 GM seed. There are some remaining issues with Cydia and fundamental modules like PreferenceLoader, so it remains an openssh-style developer-only release only for now!”
Well, this release is intended for developers and experimental fanboys, if you’re just general users, just skip the iOS 6 jailbreak for now.
The tutorial provided below will show you how-to enter DFU without Home button. In case you got an iPhone with broken home button and hardly entering DFU mode for that reason, this guide would be very helpful for you.
With the new feature in redsn0w, you can easily enter DFU mode without pressing home button at all by using a custom IPSW file, helpful for those who has broken or unresponsive home button. What DFU IPSW feature actually do is creating custom IPSW (iOS firmware file) that will cause the device to enter DFU mode at the end of iTunes restore mode then you can restore the IPSW to your device to help you entering DFU mode without need to press Home + power buttons as normal DFU steps.
You device doesnt need to be jailbroken. Enter DFU mode by simply restoring the created DFU IPSW.
Follow these steps to enter DFU mode without home button. You may also do this to enter DFU without power button (in case your power button is broken, which is rarely happen).
Download redsn0w 0.9.14b2
Download IPSW of your current iOS version
Steps to create custom DFU-mode IPSW to help you Enter DFU without Home Button
Download all required files and put them in a new folder in Desktop.
Extract redsn0w 0.9.14b2 you have downloaded in the same folder
Set Windows compatibility for redsn0w and run redsn0w as administrator
From redsn0w main menu, click Extras → Even More → DFU IPSW
A DFU-mode IPSW workaround pop-up appears to explain what it does. Click OK.
Now you will be asked to select IPSW you have downloaded earlier. Select the file and click Open
While the process starts, you just need to wait while redsn0w creating custom DFU-mode IPSW
Once finished, a pop-up alert appears to let you know that custom DFU-mode IPSW file has been created with the file location.
All you need to do now is saving this custom IPSW file in a safe place so you can easily find it every time you need to enter DFU mode without home button.
And now, how-to use this file to help you enter DFU mode without Home button?
Simply connect your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad with the broken home button → Open iTunes → Create Backup of your device first (Right Click on the device in iTunes → Backup)
Make sure that iTunes has finished backup your device now you can click on the device → Summary Page; hold down shift key on keyboard (Option/Alt key on Mac keyboard) and click Restore button on iTunes
You will now be asked to select DFU-mode IPSW which created on previous steps. Select the file and click Open
Once your device has been restored, it should be dumped into DFU mode now with black screen remain (without the iTunes logo on the screen) and you can use it as you wish (Jailbreak / Downgrade Baseband / etc).

If you have followed the steps carefully but still unable to enter DFU mode without home button, please post your problem on the comment section below.
redsn0w 0.9.14b2 released by iPhone Dev-Team purposed to downgrade iPhone 3GS baseband 06.15.00 with better support for downgrading baseband, simplified and easier steps, crash log of redsn0w, and DFU IPSW that allows you to enter DFU mode without home button.
redsn0w 0.9.14b2 is basically the same as previous redsn0w versions but improved version that covers 3 different types of NOR chips in the iPhone 3G and 3GS to let you downgrade baseband 06.15.00 to baseband 05.13.04 so you can unlock iPhone 3GS/iPhone 3GS.
