So, you have problem while adding Facebook account on iPhone iOS 6, 6.0.1, 6.1, or even on older iOS 5 version?

Apple has started showing much interest on integrating social networks in all their iOS running devices. 1. Open Settings in iOS 6.
2. Scroll down and tap Facebook.
3. Enter your Facebook login information and password and sign in.

Troubleshooting common Connection errors

At times you would find it difficult to connect your Facebook account in your iOS6 device. This might be because you would have disabled all third party Apps in your privacy settings. In such cases you would see some error messages like

Error signing in
You cannot sign in from your iPhone since you have opted out of Facebook platform”

and some more things of similar sort.

To fix facebook sign in problem using iPhone, follow these steps:

1. Open Facebook.com from your computer
2. Settings → Privacy settings.
3. Click Ads, Apps and Websites → Edit Settings
4. Under the intorduction, you will see a section called “Apps you use“, and under that will be a green tick and the link to “Turn on Apps“, click on that.
5. Facebook may present you with a privacy warning pop-up, review the terms and then select OK or “Turn on Apps“

By doing this you are allowing third party to connect to your Facebook account.

The problem also has a higher chance of getting solved when you reboot your device after closing all running Apps. So if you have tried the method above but you still can’t login to Facebook from iPhone, try to disconnect your Facebook account:

1. To disconnect your Facebook account, go to Settings on the iPhone.
2. Scroll down and tap Facebook.
3. Tap your name → Delete account.
4. Re-add your Facebook account
