Tethered, Untethered, Semi-Tethered Jailbreak, what’s the difference?

What is the difference between Tethered Jailbreak and Untethered Jailbreak?
Okay, since there is a new jailbreak method called Semi-Tethered Jailbreak, hence we’ll change the question.
What’s the difference among tethered, untethred, and semi-tethered jailbreak?
The difference is basically, how your device act when the device reboots.
Untethered jailbreak = You don’t need to do anything when device reboots.
Tehtered jailbreak = You need to connect the device to a computer when device reboots and run jailbreak software.
Semi-Tethered jailbreak = You don’t need to do anything when device reboots, but with basic limit function like phone call, sms, etc. You need to connect the device to a computer when device reboots and run jailbreak software to make the device fully function as usual.
Read more explanation below:
This is the worst jailbreak mode. Why?
Because you will need a computer, every time your iOS devices (iPod, iPhone, iPad) reboots (for any reason). It shows only Apple logo (get stuck), connect to iTunes screen, or bunch of codes screen. It’s just stuck. You will need to connect it to the computer and run the jailbreak program to get your device up and running as usual.
It’s better than tethered jailbreak, but yet another bad form of jailbreak.
Semi-tethered jailbreak is mixed between tethered and untethered jailbreak.
If you need to connect to a computer in tethered jailbreak, well, you don’t need to do so in semi-tethered jailbreak. You can reboot your jailbroken device without the need of a computer, but limited use of the device. After rebooting, you may not be able to run any Cydia jailbreak apps, and even some stock apps like Mail apps and
Safari *Mobile Safari is supported now.
In a few cases, your iDevice may get stuck at an Apple logo because of some problem with MobileSubstrate extensions.
So, in order to get your device fully functional as normal device does or to get out of Apple Logo you have to connect your iOS Device to a computer and run the jailbreak software just like tethered jailbreak.
Semi-tethered probably near-to-perfect for iPhone with some basic functions like phone calls and text messaging.
This is the best jailbreak mode, the most wanted because you dont need to worry about connecting the device to a computer with untethered jailbreak and the need of a computer is gone away.
It’s simply normal device, the same as non-jailbroken device and nothing to worry about restarting your device.
This video may help you better understand the difference between Tethered Jailbreak, Untethered Jailbreak, and Semi-Tethered jailbreak.
