If you have Tweet This plugin installed with your wordpress-based web blogs, you may noticed that the plugin no longer sending any tweets since a few days ago. I noticed this issue since a few days ago, when I thought it would just be a temporary error, but it turned to be permanent HTTP 404 error everytime a new tweet needs to be posted.

It’s not only happened with Tweet This, but any other “tweeting” plugins that automatically send tweets everytime new contents/posts published will be facing the same issue.

I also realized that Tweet This no longer appears in the wordpress plugin pages.

So, how to fix Tweet This plugin with HTTP 404 error?

*I recommend you to make changes using cPanel code editor to avoid error I had*

Edit this file

Go to line:89 (or you can find twitter.com as phrase on your browser) and you’ll see this code:

define(‘TT_API_POST_STATUS’, ‘http://twitter.com/statuses/update.json’);

Change http://twitter.com/statuses/update.json to be https://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/update.json.

This should fixed your Tweet This plugin with 404 error. I hope it helps!
